Technology + Innovation

EMPOWERING DIGITAL LEARNERS

Boyle County Schools is committed to empowering students and teachers through a technology infrastructure that fosters creativity, critical thinking and collaboration. Technology is used in all classrooms to amplify great teaching and build personalized learning environments for all children.

The Technology Department serves teaching and learning by providing technical and instructional support, professional development and logistical assistance. The department maintains a complex backbone of wired and wireless networks, file servers, routers and other network appliances across the District. They also manage thousands of personal computers, Chromebooks, smart boards, virtual reality sets and other classroom instructional interactives.

BCS strives to prepare all kids for college and career successes through innovation in today’s classrooms.

1:1 Chromebook Initiative

Every student in grades 2 through 12 receives a take-home Chromebook. Primary grades have classroom sets of ipads.

Connected Classrooms

Technology reduces barriers to learning and streamlines content–assignments, projects and sources–all in one location. These digital resources are accessible to students from anywhere through Google Drive and Converge.

Innovative Learning Platforms

Advanced learning platforms empower teachers to curate targeted, differentiated content that meets students’ individual needs. Grade level teams curate resources through Khan Academy, MobyMax, Quizlet, Newsela, Reading Counts, MasteryConnect and more. These platforms provide daily opportunities to re-teach or accelerate content when needed.

Enhanced Communications

Parents and students are encouraged to stay up-to-date on attendance, classroom performance and school happenings through Infinite Campus and REMIND 101.
