• Log into PowerSchool Records, a digital personnel file that will allow you to log in, sign, and upload documents electronically

• Review and sign your employment contract (located in PowerSchool Records)

• Begin working through your New Employee Checklist tasks (located in PowerSchool Records)

• Schedule your Pre-Employment Physical

• Contact your previous employers to complete verification of experience forms, if applicable

  • Verification of Previous School Employment Form

  • Verification of Previous Private-Sector Employment Form

• Complete your Criminal Records Check

• Complete your Child Abuse / Neglect (CAN) Check

• Complete your New Employee Checklist tasks (located in PowerSchool Records)

• Get your Pre-Employment Physical

• Submit Verification of Employment forms

• Familiarize yourself with the school calendar

• Familiarize yourself with the payroll calendar

• Confirm details for your first day with your principal or supervisor (parking, arrival time, dress code, etc.)

• Work with your principal or supervisor on any required school-specific or department-specific training or orientation

• Find out how to report your time worked - you'll either complete a timesheet or work calendar 

• Pick up your ID badge and building access credentials from your principal or supervisor

• Finalize and submit any incomplete New Employee Documents (located in PowerSchool Records)

• Understand emergency protocols for your work location

• Review your job description with your supervisor 

• Review your evaluation schedule with your supervisor 

• Review the Boyle County Schools Employee Handbook

• Familiarize yourself with Boyle County Schools Policies and Procedures

• Eligible employees have 35 calendar days from hire date to make coverage elections with the Ky. Department of Employee Insurance, which includes options for enrolling in a Health Insurance Plan, Flexible Spending Account, Life, Dental and Vision Insurance, or waiving health insurance.  

• Effective date of coverage for health insurance and related benefits is the first day of the second month after your hire date. 

• If you are already enrolled in KEHP with another school district or participating state entity, our team will work with your previous district to roll over plan information without interruption. 

• The district Insurance Coordinator will contact you directly to review enrollment details. For complete information on the benefits, options, and plans available to eligible employees, please refer to the Benefits Selection Guide from the Kentucky Personnel Cabinet.

Employees are paid on the fifth (5th) and twentieth (20th) of the month. For specific pay dates, please refer to the payroll calendar. 

Our district provides easy access to pay statements online via E-Stub. The E-Stub portal allows you to view and print past pay history and W-2 forms, and verify your sick and personal leave history.
