PROMOTING FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Department of Finance furthers the district’s instructional and operational goals through the management of fiscal resources. The department provides oversight for Boyle County Schools’ $27 million annual operating budget, while guiding informed decision-making through accurate financial reporting.
Budgeting and Financial Reporting
The district’s operating budget is managed through a critical lens. Since the majority of education funding comes from local tax support, BCS diligently prepares and implements financial plans and reports with oversight from the Board of Education.
Invitations to Bid
District resources are prudently managed with all bidding procedures conforming to Kentucky Model Procurement Codes. Contracts and purchases are awarded by competitive sealed bidding or competitive negotiation.
BCS maintains compliance with all state mandated purchasing laws and school board policies while securing the best products and services for the lowest price in the most efficient manner. The finance department oversees fair and competitive procurement processes while maintaining the highest level of purchasing integrity.
