On Tuesday, February 21, 2018, the Boyle County Conservation District hosted an awards banquet honoring students and teachers for their participation in the 2017 Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Art Contest: Water is Life.
Over 906 area students entered the conservation-minded writing and art contest, with awards given to the top three entries from ten local schools. In preparation for the contest, students studied the natural water cycle, the urban cycle, watersheds, runoff pollution, aquatic invasive species and water conservation practices. They were encouraged to think about how water affects their own lives while considering ways to take action to improve water in their communities.
Congratulations to these Boyle County Schools’ students and teachers for making a difference!
